Childbirth posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) poses significant challenges, impacting both mothers and infants. This work investigates whether childbirth PTSD is less recognized than PTSD caused by other index events.

Age-related changes in the gastrointestinal system are common and may be influenced by physiological aging processes. To date, a comprehensive analysis of esophageal motor disorders in patients belonging to various age groups has not been adequately reported.

The optimal labor-induction protocol in women with prelabor rupture of membranes (PROM) is unknown. Whether the management of women with a previous cesarean delivery (CD) with PROM is different remains controversial. We investigated maternal and perinatal outcomes according to two induction protocols of 24 h vs. 12 h.

The WHO's initiative to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030 does not address the increasing incidence of vulvar, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers linked to high-risk HPV. Currently, the prevention of these three cancers faces various obstacles, such as a lack of specialized screening programs, well-defined management guidelines, and widespread public awareness. Without any interventions, the incidence of these three cancers will likely rise in the upcoming years, increasingly affecting younger individuals. We recommend expanding the WHO's initiative to include vulvar, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers.

Tests for detection of influenza must demonstrate high sensitivity and specificity, affordability, and rapidness.

Enzyme-mediated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) depolymerization has recently emerged as a sustainable solution for PET recycling. Towards an industrial-scale implementation of this technology, various strategies are being explored to enhance PET depolymerization (PETase) activity and improve enzyme stability, expression, and purification processes. Recently, rational engineering of a known PET hydrolase (LCC-leaf compost cutinase) has resulted in the isolation of a variant harboring four-point mutations (LCC-ICCG), presenting increased PETase activity and thermal stability. Here, we revealed the enzyme's natural extracellular expression and used it to efficiently screen error-prone genetic libraries based on LCC-ICCG for enhanced activity toward consumer-grade PET. 

Women with arrested preterm labor (APTL) are at very high risk for spontaneous preterm delivery (SPTD), the leading cause of neonatal mortality and morbidity. To date, no maintenance therapy has been found to be effective for pregnancy prolongation. A few clinical trials with considerable methodological limitations have demonstrated some efficacy for 400 mg vaginal micronized progesterone (VMP) in women with APTL. Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of daily 400 mg VMP for the prolongation of pregnancy after APTL.

The French AmbUlatory extra-peritoneal Cesarean Section (FAUCS) is aimed at improving patients' birth experience and recovery. However, data are scarce regarding its maternal and neonatal safety. This study seeks to compare maternal and neonatal outcomes between FAUCS and conventional cesarean deliveries at term.

Revisional bariatric surgery (RBS) for insufficient weight loss/weight regain or metabolic relapse is increasing worldwide. There is currently no large multinational, prospective data on 30-day morbidity and mortality of RBS. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the 30-day morbidity and mortality of RBS at participating centres.

Recent guidelines have advocated for upfront pH testing in patients with isolated symptoms of extra-esophageal gastrointestinal reflux disease (EE-GERD) under the assumption that a negative pH study will prevent further gastrointestinal (GI) investigations, proton pump inhibitor (PPI) use, and reduce cost. We sought to evaluate if this actually occurs.
