Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a rare, heterogeneous liver disease marked by autoantibodies, hypergammaglobulinemia, and distinct histological features. Predominantly affecting women, its incidence and prevalence show significant regional variability globally. Therefore, our aim is to examine the trends of AIH and to assess its demographics, management, and disease progression using an extensive population-based database.

This study investigated intracardiac flow dynamics and assessed the comparability and reliability of 4D flow CMR measurements across multiple sites within the Berlin Research Network for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (BER-CMR) using 3D cine phase-contrast imaging with three-directional velocity encoding in a healthy traveling cohort.

Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) with cryoballoon technology is widely used for rhythm control in atrial fibrillation (AF). However, there are limited data on its effectiveness in patients with the left common pulmonary vein (LCPV) variant.

Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) syndrome is an autoimmune disease characterized at its acute stage by pan-ocular granulomatous inflammation. Systemic symptoms may develop, including hearing impairment, neurologic disorders, and loss of pigment in the skin and hair. Ocular complications occur during the chronic stage or secondary to flare-ups and may result in substantial vision loss due to the intraocular inflammation. This manuscript presents a case report and literature review of the ocular and systemic manifestations, diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis and treatment considerations in VKH.

Vascular graft infections (VGI) are rare but severe complications following vascular surgery, with significant morbidity and mortality. Diagnosing VGI requires a multidisciplinary approach combining clinical, laboratory, and imaging findings. While CTA remains the first-line imaging modality, its limitations in detecting chronic or low-grade infections highlight the value of advanced nuclear medicine techniques, particularly [¹⁸F]FDG PET/CT. In this review, we discuss the role of [¹⁸F]FDG PET/CT in diagnosing VGI, emphasizing its high sensitivity and negative predictive value, which are critical for ruling out infection.

Coblation technology is gaining wide acceptance and use as a contemporary surgical technique for tonsil surgeries due to less post-operative morbidity compared to the more traditional total tonsillectomy. Previous articles examined the role of post-operative antibiotics for traditional total tonsillectomy; however, this is the first study which explores the role of post-operative prophylactic antibiotic treatment among children undergoing coblation intracapsular tonsillectomy.

The key presenting symptom of endometrial cancer is abnormal uterine bleeding, most commonly postmenopausal bleeding (PMB), which facilitates early-stage diagnosis. Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with Hyperthermic Intra-peritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) has become a successful, potentially curative, treatment option for peritoneal surface malignancies (PSM). CRS and HIPEC (CRS/HIPEC) are performed with curative intent for several intra-peritoneal pathologies. An increasing number of patients with PSM are diagnosed at a relatively young age. Given the long-term survival in some patients following CRS/HIPEC, the reproductive health of patients in this age group requires consideration.

Maternal obesity in pregnancy and lactation is linked to metabolic disturbances and neurodevelopmental problems in offspring, increasing the risk of psychiatric disorders in adulthood. We proposed that maternal N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) supplementation during lactation, a critical period for neurodevelopment, potentially protects offspring from developing cognitive impairment in adulthood.

Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare but aggressive cancer characterized by its unique growth patterns, presenting substantial diagnostic challenges. With the shift toward immunotherapy for MPM treatment, assessing therapeutic responses has become increasingly complex. Recent studies indicate that FDG PET/CT may provide more effective response criteria compared to traditional CT-based methods. This review emphasizes the important role of PET/CT in offering deep insights into the disease state and monitoring treatment responses.
