דף פייסבוק חדש בערבית לספרת הסוכרת בגליל ע"ש ראסל ברי

לאור תחילת חודש הרדמאן (02 אפריל, 2022) ספֵרת הגליל לחקר הסוכרת ע״ש ראסל ברי השיקה דף פייסבוק חדש בשפה הערבית. פרופ' נעים שחאדה, מנהל הספרה ונשיא האגודה הישראלית לסוכרת, העביר הרצאה בשידור חי בפייסבוק בנושא איזון הסוכרת והצום במהלך חודש זה, בתאריך ה- 31 מרץ, 2022. פרופ' שחאדה הציג בהרצאה את ההכנה הדרושה לחולי הסוכרת כדי לאפשר צום בטוח ומימוש החובות הדתיות שלהם.

נציגי קרן רוטשילד מבקרים בפקולטה ע"ש עזריאלי

הפקולטה לרפואה ע"ש עזריאלי שמחה לארח נציגים מטעם קרן אדמונד דה רוטשילד בתאריך ה- 27 מרץ, 2022.

קרן רוטשילד, תומכת מרכזית של הפקולטה ע"ש עזריאלי, השתתפו בסיור באתר קריית החינוך החדשה. בראשות נועם דוד רשלבך, ראש מינהל הפקולטה, הם נפגשו עם משה גוטליב (יועץ בכיר למנכ"ל, אוניברסיטת בר-אילן); גדי בוגנים (ראש מדור בינוי, אוניברסיטת בר-אילן); הדיקן, פרופ' קרל סקורצקי, שהציג מצגת על שיטות חינוך מתקדמות; זיו שטיינר ממשרד מושלי-אלדר אדריכלים; וד"ר שי בל, בין היתר.

סדנת חינוך בריאות קהילתית

סדנת העשרה מקצועית אשר הוענקה למחנכים בתחום בריאות קהילתית של קופות החולים כללית ומכבי התקיימה בפקולטה לרפואה ע"ש עזריאלי בתאריך 21 במרץ 2022. בהנחייתה של ד"ר לילך מלצקי, הסדנה הכירה בין רופאי הגליל לבין חברי הסגל בפקולטה, התקיים דיאלוג בנושא אתגרי הוראה, הוצעו עדכונים לשיטות ההעשרה החינוכיות, ויום מהנה לעובדי הבריאות בצפון הושג.

כנס מקצועות הבריאות ה-9

בכנס מקוון זה, בהשתתפות מאות אנשים, בחסות המכללה האקדמית צפת ב-28 במרץ 2022, נכללו דוברים מהפקולטה לרפואה ע"ש עזריאלי ובניהם: הדיקן, פרופ' קרל סקורצקי; פרופ' ארנון בלום; ד"ר ענב יפת; ד"ר אתי קרוזל-דבילה; ופרופ' מיכאל אדלשטיין. ההרצאות החלו על נושאים כמו נגיף הקורונה מהיבטים רבים, רפואה מרחוק וסוכרת הריון.

פרופ' אריק שינוול בכנס לרפואת ילדים בבלגיה

פרופ' אריק שינוול, משנה לדיקן לחינוך רפואי, היה הדובר הראשי במליאה בכנס Jubilee הזהב של האגודה לרפואת ילדים בלגית בבריסל ב-17 במרץ 2022. נושא הרצאתו היה אתיקה וקבלת החלטות בגבולות הכדאיות.

טקס לסטודנטים בתכנית MD/PhD

טקס צנוע לכבוד שמונה סטודנטים בתכנית המשולבת ל-MD/PhD התקיים בלשכת הדיקן ב-9 במרץ 2022. הסטודנטים הציגו את תחומי המחקר שלהם, הדיקן השמיע מילות עידוד חמות ותומכות, ומתנה סמלית הוענקה לסטודנטים. (סוודר וחולצה עם לוגו).

הפקולטה לרפואה ע"ש עזריאלי מדגישה את חשיבותה של תכנית MD/PhD הסלקטיבית והיוקרתית.

יום גיבוש צוות 2022

צוות הפקולטה המנהלי נהנה מיום כיף וזמן איכות, ב-24 במרץ 2021. לאחר ארוחת בוקר וחדר בריחה בחיפה, הצוות אכל ארוחת צהריים ביקב תשבי בבנימינה ולאחר מכן נהנה מטעימות יין ושוקולד. כמה תמונות מהיום המהנה (אם כי קר וגשום מאוד!) ניתן לראות כאן.

הכירו את החוקרים החדשים שלנו!

שלושה חוקרים חדשים הצטרפו לאחרונה לפקולטה לרפואה ע"ש עזריאלי: ד"ר רון אורבך, ד"ר חנה קרן וד"ר לירון רוזנקרנץ. ברצוננו להציג את ד"ר חנה קרן, שהצטרפה אלינו בינואר 2022:

ד"ר קרן השיגה את כל התארים שלה בטכניון, תואר ראשון בהנדסת ביוטכנולוגיה, לאחר מכן הנדסה ביו-רפואית במהלך שירותה הצבאי כקברניט במנהלת המחקר של יחידת המודיעין של צה"ל, ולאחר מכן תואר שלישי במסלול ישיר (בהדרכת פרופ' שמעון מרום). קרן היא דור שלישי בטכניון. המחקר שלה נועד לגשר בין עולמות ההנדסה והרפואה:

Her works investigated the phenomenon of neural network synchrony, identifying a unique cyclic propagation pattern in cultured networks, connecting neural networks to hardware networks for a hybrid brain-machine-interface, and developing closed-loop control circuits to artificially modify or stabilize neural activity. This work became integral to a major European consortium of the lab which led to several follow-up collaborations and gained her expertise in electrophysiology, brain-computer-interfaces, and the usage of closed-loop control framework as a novel research approach.

During her postdoc at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in the US, she went on to developing the closed-loop adaptive experiments but now to control human mood and behavior, both in healthy and in depressed, while gaining a wide experience in human behavioral experiments, fMRI, and both computational and clinical psychiatry approaches.

In her lab, the Human Artificial Control - Keren lab (HACK lab), she will be further developing the individualized adaptive and dynamic experiments, also using virtual environments, human-machine-interfaces and physiological and neural recordings. These experiments will hopefully provide the capability to control and shift mood, cognitive and behavioral states, in the aim to understand better the mechanisms of mood changes, the limits of our mood and behavior, the relation to neural and physiological changes, the relation to other individuals, and moreover, to hopefully advance individualized clinical interventions for mental health.
