CV
I received my PhD in Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. I then spent six months on a fellowship in George Sugihara’s lab at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego. After returning to Israel, I worked in industry for two years before taking a postdoctoral position to study infectious disease dynamics under the supervision of Amit Huppert and Uri Obolski at Tel Aviv University. In 2023, I joined the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine in Safed as a Senior Lecturer.
Research
What drives pathogen spread? Why does an outbreak occur now and not later? Which outbreaks are predictable and which are not? How can the spread of misinformation affect the spread of a pathogen? In what sense does the reverse hold? How can we simultaneously increase testing throughput and accuracy? Why do some environmental factors seem to drive the spread of a pathogen in one region, yet have no effect in another?
The epidemiology of infectious diseases offers a vast array of deep, fascinating and impactful questions. My research group is dedicated to utilizing computational approaches to tackling such questions.
