Ala Aiob, Ruba Toma, Maya Wolf, Yosef Haddad, Marwan Odeh: Cerebroplacental ratio and neonatal outcome in low-risk pregnancies with reduced fetal movement: A prospective study (Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol X .)
Evaluates the effectiveness of the cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) in predicting poor outcomes in low-risk pregnancies with reduced fetal movements (RFMs).
Jacob Bornstein: Risk of Development of Vulvar Cancer in Women With Lichen Sclerosus or Lichen Planus: A Systematic Review (J Low Genit Tract Dis .)
Vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS) and possibly vulvar lichen planus (VLP) are associated with an increased vulvar cancer (VC) risk. We analyzed the risk of VC and its precursors after a diagnosis of VLS or VLP.
Enav Yefet, Naama Schwartz, Zohar Nachum: Characteristics of pregnancy with gestational diabetes mellitus and the consecutive pregnancy as predictors for future diabetes mellitus type 2 (Diabetes Res Clin Pract . )
To explore possible obstetrical history-related, modifiable risk factors of future type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), with focus on characteristics of the index gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) pregnancy and the consecutive pregnancy.
Omry Koren: The effects of the Green-Mediterranean diet on cardiometabolic health are linked to gut microbiome modifications: a randomized controlled trial (Genome Med . )
Previous studies have linked the Mediterranean diet (MED) with improved cardiometabolic health, showing preliminary evidence for a mediating role of the gut microbiome. We recently suggested the Green-Mediterranean (Green-MED) diet as an improved version of the healthy MED diet, with increased consumption of plant-based foods and reduced meat intake. Here, we investigated the effects of MED interventions on the gut microbiota and cardiometabolic markers, and the interplay between the two, during the initial weight loss phase of the DIRECT-PLUS trial.
Comparisons between lysis and lavage, intra-articular steroid injections, and three-point subsynovial steroid injections using operative single-cannula arthroscopy - A retrospective analysis (J Craniomaxillofac Surg .)
The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness of intra-articular and three-point sub-synovial steroid injections.

Sher Goaz, Daniel Glikman: Molecular Diagnosis of Cat Scratch Disease: a 25-Year Retrospective Comparative Analysis of Various Clinical Specimens and Different PCR Assays (Microbiol Spectr .)
Cat-scratch disease (CSD), caused primarily by Bartonella henselae, is a common etiology of infectious regional lymphadenopathy. Lymphadenopathy is preceded by a primary inoculation lesion and may progress to suppuration. Laboratory diagnosis of CSD is hampered by the limitations of available confirmatory tests. PCR, in general, is highly sensitive and specific; however, clinical sensitivity in CSD varies greatly between studies. We aimed to identify clinical specimens and PCR assays best suited for CSD diagnosis using a national CSD registry and a uniform case definition.
Andrei Braester: Venous thromboembolism in patients with autoimmune disorders: a comparison between bleeding complications during anticoagulation and recurrences after its discontinuation (Br J Haematol .)
The ideal duration of anticoagulation therapy in patients with autoimmune disorders and venous thromboembolism (VTE) is controversial. We used the Registro Informatizado de Enfermedad TromboEmbólica (RIETE) database to compare the incidence rate of major bleeding during anticoagulation versus the incidence rate of VTE recurrences after its discontinuation.
Naaem Simaan: The Significance of Atrial Fibrillation in Patients With Transient Global Amnesia (Front Neurol .)
The etiology of transient global amnesia (TGA) remains unclear in a large subset of patients. We aimed to determine the clinical and radiological characteristics of TGA-patients with suspected acute micro-embolic stroke on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI).
Khalaf Kridin: Psoriasis and Renal Disorders: A Large-Scale Population-Based Study in Children and Adults (Dermatology .)
Psoriasis is a systemic disease with associated comorbidities. An association between renal diseases and psoriasis has previously been reported in adult patients, but little is known about renal diseases in pediatric patients. This study determines whether there is an association between psoriasis and renal comorbidities in adult and pediatric patients.
Michael Edelstein: Characteristics associated with COVID-19 vaccine uptake among adults aged 50 years and above in England (8 December 2020-17 May 2021): a population-level observational study (BMJ Open . )
To determine characteristics associated with COVID-19 vaccine coverage among individuals aged 50 years and above in England since the beginning of the programme
Enav Yefet: An informative video before planned Cesarean-delivery and maternal anxiety-a multicenter randomized controlled trial (Am J Obstet Gynecol MFM .)
Cesarean delivery (CD) is one of the most common procedures performed in obstetrics, and although CD is a blissful occasion, it is commonly associated with fear and anxiety for the new mother. We aimed to study the impact of watching a detailed, informative video on maternal anxiety levels, childbirth experience, and patient satisfaction - in patients undergoing a primary CD.
Moriah Shachar: Profile Trends of Non-COVID Patients Admitted to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit during the 2020 COVID Pandemic (Am J Med Sci .)
During the COVID-19 outbreak, numerous reports indicated a higher mortality rate among cardiovascular patients. We investigated how this trend applied to patients admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit (CICU).
Chaim Putterman; High incidence of proliferative and membranous nephritis in SLE patients with low proteinuria in the Accelerating Medicines Partnership (Rheumatology (Oxford) . )
Delayed detection of lupus nephritis associates with worse outcomes. There are conflicting recommendations regarding a threshold level of proteinuria at which biopsy will likely yield actionable management. This study addressed the association of urine protein creatinine ratios (UPCR) with clinical characteristics and investigated the incidence of proliferative and membranous histology in patients with a UPCR between 0.5 and 1.
Jacob Bornstein: Inauguration Editorial (J Low Genit Tract Dis . )
Inauguration Editorial from new editor in chief.
Acute Kidney Injury Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: Association with Contrast Media Dosage and Contrast Media Based Risk Predication Models (J Clin Med .)
The effect of contrast media (CM), delivered prior to- and during transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), on kidney function, following the procedure, is debatable. Consequently, the performance of CM-based, acute kidney injury (AKI) risk prediction models is also questionable. We retrospectively studied 210 patients that underwent TAVI.
