More Congratulations

  • Congratulations to Prof. Skorecki. The Faculty Council Forum meeting on June 7, 2021 recommended that his appointment as Dean of the Faculty be extended for an additional two years. The final vote will now move on to the BIU Senate.
  • Congratulations to Tom Neimarkas (Dr. Meital Gal Tanamy advisor) and Lihi Grinberg (Dr. Ron Pian advisor) on receipt of the Rector’s Prize for Outstanding Students. A ceremony was held at the BIU Ramat Gan campus on June 7, 2021.

Sivan Spitzer-Shohat Hosts Inbar at AzrieliSivan Spitzer-Shohat

On May 30, 2020, Dr. Sivan Spitzer-Shohat hosted staff from the Inbar Healthcare Management Program, a joint program of the Ministry of Health and the Maoz organization, designed to train the future generation of leaders in the public health system.

Spitzer-Shohat’s lecture discussed the importance of academia in bringing about regional change in health, and the special role of the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine in promoting health and reducing inequities in the Galilee ecosystem through the Diabetes SPHERE project.

Dr. Rizan Sakhnini, Deputy District Physician, Maccabi Northern District, also spoke about the challenges and solutions to making medical care more accessible in the North.

Bar-Ilan University Board of Trustees

The Bar-Ilan University annual Board of Trustees meetings took place May 30 – June 1, 2021, via Zoom. Moti Sonnenfeld, a supporter of the Azrieli Faculty, helped to “hood” Idan Raichel who received an honorary doctorate for his contribution to the world of Israeli and international music. The Azrieli Faculty of Medicine is well represented in the annual President’s Report that can be accessed here.
