Beyachad Foundation Visits the Azrieli Faculty of Medicineקרן ביחד

Yoel Carasso, chairman and founder of the Beyachad Foundation, along with his daughter Dafna, and Atar Razy-Oren, CEO, as well as Keren Krothammer, Programs Manager, visited the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine on March 22, 2021. They met with the Dean, Prof. Karl Skorecki, the Administrative Head, Noam Reshelbach and others. Beyachad is devoted to narrowing the gap between different socio-economic sectors in Israel via education and training. After the fruitful meeting they joined the Faculty for an online Passover toast (הרמת כוסית/haramat kosit).

Lee Azouli who heads the Student Union, has shared updates with us:

  • Medical students who have been volunteering as part of theבוחרים גליל  (“choosing the Galilee”) program, assist patients with their medical as well as emotional needs, at the Ziv Medical Center emergency room.
  • The Student Union commemorated Yom HaShoah, with Faculty-wide attendance, via Zoom.
  • Special Faculty sweatshirts have been distributed to our medical students, for official use while they are in the hospitals.
  • Students participated in the הרי געש (“Volcanoes”) running group (14 and 32 km), representing the Faculty.
  • Stay tuned for the Teddy Bear Hospital, details pending, May 3, 2021, online!

Piran and Gurevich Share Their Expertise with Medical Cadets

Dr. Ron Piran and Dr. Vyacheslev Gurevich, both of the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine, lectured in March 2021 to a class of Medical Cadets. Both prepared their lectures to be at a level appropriate for the talented high school students, and even incorporated an interactive “Kahoot!” game. The students asked many questions, expressing their interest. More on the Medical Cadet program can be seen here.

International School News

Azrieli Faculty of Medicine graduate students from India joined their compatriots from the Bar-Ilan University main campus on April 6, 2021 to celebrate the Holi Festival (“Festival of Colors,” “Festival of Spring”). The BIU International School hired a bus to bring the students to Ramat Gan. The festival celebrates the eternal and divine love of Radha and Krishna. Games, dance, and Indian refreshments were shared with curious passers-by on campus who joined in the cheer.
