Northern Stars-Mifal Hapais A Great Success, and Growing

Azrieli Faculty of Medicine Northern Stars-Mifal Hapais medical residents program has just received another vote of confidence from the Israeli Ministry of Health as well as the Authority for the Development of the Galilee. The program, aimed at attracting the country’s best residents to the North, will now be offering internships in anesthesiology and ICU as well as psychiatry and internal medicine.

UJIA Visits J. Issacs Charitable Trust Medical Scholarship Recipients

Ms. Naty Glikin of Bar-Ilan University’s Global Resource Development and Dr. Alissa Burstein of the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine, escorted UJIA representative Mr. Sefton Bergson on December 9, 2021 as he met the 6 recipients of a very prestigious excellence-based scholarship made possible thanks to the generosity of Jeremy Isaacs of the UK. The students convened in their “homing” hospitals, Baruch Padeh Medical Center in Poria and The Galilee Medical Center in Naharia.

Prof. Karl Skorecki “Anusim” Lecture

Prof. Skorecki, Dean of the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine, along with Dr. Inés Nogeuiro, spoke at a Zoom lecture on “Mapping the Genetic Identity of Bnei Anusim: Rediscovering a Lost Jewish Community - The Role of Genetic Research.” The December 12, 2021 presentation was sponsored by American Friends of Bar-Ilan University and included welcoming remarks by New York City Congregation Shearith Israel (Spanish & Portugese Synagogue) leaders.
