Gastrointestinal (GI) microbial populations are important in maintaining normal functioning of the GI by preventing disorders. Dysbiotic microbiota may increase the likelihood of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), a syndrome associated with significant morbidity. We aimed to investigate the microbiota populations of patients with SIBO. 

Patients previously infected with acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) may experience post-acute adverse health outcomes, known as long COVID. The most reported symptoms are fatigue, headache and attention/concentration issues, dyspnea and myalgia. Helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) allow for shorter transport duration in long-distance evacuations and facilitate advanced en-route medical care access. Studies comparing HEMS with ground emergency medical services (GEMS), including the outcome of prehospital mortality, are lacking. This study aimed to evaluate the association between HEMS and early mortality in Israel.

Severe edentulous posterior mandible atrophy with inadequate bone height superior to the inferior alveolar canal may increase the risk of neurosensory impairment and other complications during inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) transposition (IANT) prior to dental implant insertion. The current report describes the tubing technique as a practical and feasible procedure that ensures IAN preservation during IANT.
