Introducing Ilanot Medical Leadership Cadet ProgramIlanot

This year’s MD applicants are being offered a unique opportunity thanks to the Israeli Ministry of Health. “Ilanot” aims to cultivate the next generation of medical leadership, with a focus on the periphery. Up to 30 cadets are slated to be hand picked from highly motivated Azrieli applicants.

Ilanot is made possible thanks to cooperation with organizations in the Negev and the Galilee as well as the Department for the Reserves for Israel in the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee, hospitals and HMOs in the Negev and the Galilee, local councils and local associations and of course, the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine that welcomes the program.

Students will receive a tuition and living expenses stipend, leadership training, and mentoring throughout the period. In exchange, Azrieli students commit to living in the Galilee and working for seven years in the Galilee after graduation.

Four year MD track applications for academic year 2022-23 are being accepted January 16 – February 13, 2022.

Medical Students Learn from Seniors in “Aging” Courseseniors

Second-year students in the four-year MD track were recently given the opportunity to meet (via Zoom due to Covid-19) members of the senior "Galilee Team" from the Upper Galilee. The students are currently well into their "Aging" course which is given by Dr. Amitai Oberman. As part of the course, they meet with seniors to learn first-hand, and not just via textbooks. The meeting proved enriching and a lively discussion arose that led to tips as to how best to be a good and professional physician, especially around this special and important age group with its unique needs.
