Student Updates
Prof. Johnny Younis has again shared with us a student-related update for the upcoming academic year:
During the Obstetrics and Gynecology rotations, a full day of medical simulation is carried out. Students, one by one, practice on special manikins to learn the basic tools of the trade such as the gynecological examination, midwifery examination, the taking of PAP smear and more, before working on women. In addition, they are exposed to special computerized models to help better understand the anatomical, medical, and professional basis for the use of endoscopic instrumentation, such as hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.
Up until the 2019-2020 school year, these simulation days were held at the Carmel Medical Center, which is not affiliated with the Faculty. Starting this year, the simulation days will be held at the Azrieli-affiliated Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, which has built a unique center for this purpose.
