"Bodily Autonomy and Identities" Workshop in Braunschweigworkshop

Initiated and organized by Dr. Limor Meoded Danon of the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine (along with Prof. Dr. Katinka Schweizer of MSH Medical School Hamburg and Prof. Dr. Barbara Thies of TU Braunschweig), an interdisciplinary Israeli-German workshop took place at TU Braunschweig on July 24-26, 2023. The workshop was inspired by the ongoing debates around identity politics and bodily autonomy within different research fields and public discourse.

The purpose of the workshop was to form an interdisciplinary Israeli-German research network to reflect and study these interrelations to gain further insights into the intricate dynamics around autonomy, agency, embodied identity, and minority experiences and indeed, a multidisciplinary German-Israeli research group was successfully established.
