In Memory of Aharon and Rachel Dahan

Aharon and Rachel Dahan were among the great friends of Bar-Ilan University, whose generosity, humanity, and commitment to the State of Israel left a lasting mark on countless lives.
Born in Tiberias and deeply connected to Israel’s founding generation, Aharon Dahan carried throughout his life a profound belief in education, responsibility, Jewish identity, and service to others. Together, Aharon and Rachel built a legacy defined by vision and devotion to the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
Their support for Bar-Ilan University reflected these values with extraordinary clarity. They believed deeply in the University’s mission: academic excellence grounded in Jewish values and dedicated to the advancement of Israeli society as a whole.
This commitment found powerful expression in their support for the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine in Safed. Aharon and Rachel Dahan recognized the importance of establishing a medical school in the Galilee for the future of the region. They visited the Faculty with pride and genuine personal interest, following its growth and development closely.
Their generosity shaped the Faculty during its formative years and continues to be felt by students, researchers, physicians, and patients across the region. Through their support, they strengthened medical education, advanced research, and helped expand access to healthcare in communities throughout northern Israel.
The values associated with Aharon and Rachel Dahan — respect, faith, compassion, acceptance, knowledge, and giving — continue to inspire the work carried out at the Faculty every day. Their memory lives on through the students who study here, the physicians trained here, and the many lives touched through healing, research, and care.
Bar-Ilan University and the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine in Safed remember Aharon and Rachel Dahan with deep gratitude and enduring respect.
