The Genomic Technology Center - Tech Specs
The Genomic Technology Center Unit offers a broad range of services for high-throughput sequencing experiments including experimental design, library preparation, sequencing, bioinformatics, and data analysis.
The equipment at the GTC includes the NextSeq (up to 400 M reads) and MiSeq (1-25 M reads) Illumina sequencers, and accompanied equipment such as Covaris (S220,E220), Qubit, Tapestation, Bioanalyzer.
Our GTC provides one-stop shop service from the project planning through the library preparation (DNA, Total RNA, mRNA, Ribosomal depletion, sRNA,cfRNA, Exome sequencing, targeted sequencing) sequencing, and the bioinformatics.
Examples of projects completed at our GTC:
- Extraction of DNA from an ancient vine, library preparation and sequencing.
- DNA extraction from slides of FFPE-fixed blocks construction of targeted libraries (SureSelect) and sequencing.
- Purification of cell-free RNA from patient sera, library construction and sequencing.
We have extensive experience in high throughput total RNA sequencing, and we have in-house computational resources to process the data with advanced supercomputing.
Moreover, the bioinformatics unit affiliated to our genomic center provides complementary data analysis services. Our bioinformatics unit constantly develops new algorithms and tools for analyzing the large data sets produced at the genomic center.
