Teddy Bear Hospital
Each year, the Faculty converts to a full-scale hospital for one day for stuffed animals. Local children are invited to bring their “sick” stuffed animals to the Faculty. The children explain the symptoms of their dolls to the medical staff in the emergency room. The stuffed dolls are then sent to the appropriate hospital wards for further imaging, diagnosis and treatment. The program gives hundreds of children, accompanied by their parents and other family members, a firsthand experience in how to reduce fears related to hospital visits.
