Center for Immunology and Infectious Disease Research
The field of research, including immunology and infectious diseases, deals with issues related to the immune system and microorganisms and their interactions. The research center will include basic multidisciplinary, translational, clinical and epidemiological research on these topics. The main areas of research are:
1. The interaction between different pathogens and the host, especially with the immune system
2. In-depth research on the mechanisms of aggressiveness of various disease-causing microorganisms.
3. Development of diagnostic methods of infectious diseases.
4. Development of strategies for treating infectious diseases such as vaccines and addressing issues such as bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
5. Epidemiology of infectious diseases and development of models for predicting and studying outbreaks.
6. Understanding the role of microorganisms that inhabit a person's body in health and disease.
7. Disruptions in immune system activation such as allergy, autoimmune diseases and cancer.
8. Personalized treatment for various diseases using the immune system.
