ספֵרת הסוכרת ע"ש ראסל ברי
The Launch, November 16, 2021
During the week commemorating World Diabetes Day (November 14, 2021), the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine of Bar-Ilan University launched The Russell Berrie Galilee Diabetes SPHERE, a $75 million initiative designed to tackle diabetes and reduce healthcare disparities in the Galilee while developing innovations with global impact.
The event was extensively covered in the local and international press, as you can see from the small sampling in the following pages.
Feel free to click on the headlines, to learn more about this exciting venture.
We wish success to Dr. Sivan Spitzer who was most instrumental in all of the planning and development stages (and who served as Master of Ceremonies at the launch), as well as Prof. Naim Shehadeh who will be serving as Director of the SPHERE. Dr. Spitzer as well as Prof. Chaim Putterman and Dr. Ron Piran will be Deputy Directors.
The Russell Berrie Foundation press release can be read here; Bar-Ilan U. press release can be read here (in Hebrew, here); and pictures from the launch can be seen here. Below is the Declaration that was signed at the gala event.
