Starting medical school is an exciting milestone, but it also comes with new challenges. Alongside adapting to a new academic environment and joining a new community, first-year students must navigate a demanding curriculum, develop effective study habits, and adjust to the pace of medical education.

To help make this transition smoother, the Faculty's Mentorship Program connects incoming students with volunteer mentors from the advanced years of study.

As part of the program, each mentor is paired with one or two first-year students and guides them throughout the academic year. Mentors share their experience and offer practical advice on topics such as time management, effective learning strategies, coping with exams and workload, and navigating student life at the Faculty.

Beyond practical support, the program aims to foster a strong sense of community and belonging. Whenever possible, mentors and mentees are matched based on shared backgrounds or common interests, allowing for more meaningful and personalized support.

The program also provides senior students with an opportunity to give back, share their knowledge, and help strengthen the supportive culture that defines the Faculty community.
