Center for Bioethics Research in Research and Medicine

Bioethics is an exciting, dynamic and renewable field of research that includes aspects of dealing with moral, social and cultural issues relating to diverse fields ofביו-אתיקה במחקר וברפואה biomedicine and health in therapeutic and research contexts such as: genetics and reproduction, treatment of aging and end of life, artificial intelligence (AI)-based medicine, big data and personalized medicine. The field of bioethics draws an additional and important in-depth perspective on these issues from research relating to medicine during the Holocaust.

The uniqueness of the Center for Bioethics Research stems from three aspects:

1. Its geographical location in the Galilee is characterized as multicultural and very socially diverse, which makes it possible to examine the various aspects in diverse social and cultural contexts in research. 
2.  A research perspective that combines medicine during the Holocaust and the insights that can be gained from it with innovation in biomedical technologies, medical ethics, and identity shaping.
3.  Integral and interactive amalgamation between research personnel in the Faculty and physicians in the "field". This combination ensures feedback between the advancement of technology and the moral issues it raises and the moral-professional issues as experienced in the "field" by doctors and other staff members.
