The fee for participation in the personal interview assessment process is NIS 400.

Admissions Process Overview

Admissions Process – Four-Year M.D. Program

The admissions process for the Four-Year M.D. Program consists of several stages designed to evaluate applicants' academic qualifications, scientific knowledge, and personal suitability for the medical profession, as outlined below.

Stage 1: Knowledge Examination

The Knowledge Examination assesses the core scientific subjects acquired during undergraduate studies that serve as prerequisite requirements for admission to the Four-Year M.D. Program.

Subjects covered:

  • Biochemistry
  • Cell Biology
  • Molecular Biology
  • Genetics

Advancement to the next stage of the admissions process is determined based on performance in the Knowledge Examination.

Stage 2: Personal Interviews

Beginning with admissions for the 2020-2021 academic year, all applicants seeking admission to the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine in the Galilee at Bar-Ilan University must successfully complete:

MOR/MASAR scores from previous years are not accepted.

Personal Interviews

Following the initial screening process, eligible applicants will be invited to participate in personal interviews.

The purpose of the interviews is to evaluate personal attributes that cannot be assessed through cognitive examinations alone.

Azrieli Faculty of Medicine in the Galilee, Safed, Israel.

Interview Dates

  • June 9-10, 2026
  • June 14-17, 2026

Additional information regarding interview scheduling will be published at a later date.

Interview invitations are sent randomly; therefore, applicants must be available on all scheduled interview dates.

Interview scores are valid for one year only.

Limit on Interview Attempts

Beginning with admissions for the 2028-2029 academic year, applicants who have participated in three personality interview processes at Bar-Ilan University and were not admitted will no longer be eligible to apply to the University's medical programs.

The count of interview attempts begins with the admissions cycle for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Personal interviews completed for admission to the 2024-2025 academic year will not be included in this count.

Stage 3: SHAUL Questionnaire

The SHAUL Questionnaire is an assessment tool designed to evaluate personality characteristics and behavioral traits.

Please note that, beginning with admissions for the 2020-2021 academic year, all applicants must meet the requirements of both:

  • The personal interviews
  • The SHAUL Questionnaire

Applicants cannot be admitted based solely on a MOR/MASAR score.

Examination Date

SHAUL Questionnaire for Bar-Ilan University applicants only

The examination date will be announced at a later stage.

The assessment will take place at the Faculty of Medicine in Safed.

Stage 4: Biographical Questionnaire

The final stage of the admissions process includes a Biographical Questionnaire, which assesses applicants based on situations and experiences they have encountered in their lives.
