Center for Cardiovascular Research and Metabolic Diseases
Metabolism includes biochemical pathways that turn food into energy as well as building and repairing various tissues. Metabolic diseases are the result of damage to these pathways. The risk factors and mechanisms that cause cardiovascular and metabolic diseases are shared. The research interests of the Center for the Study of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases will include the following topics:
1. Understand the diseases
- Genetics of heart disease and metabolic diseases.
- The effect of the microbiome on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
- inflammatory mechanisms and their effect on the cardiovascular and metabolic system.
- Understanding cellular and molecular mechanisms in the pathogenesis of heart disease and metabolic diseases.
2. Understanding morbidity
- Epidemiology of heart disease.
- Risk factors and prevention of the development of these diseases.
- Factors predict mortality and morbidity
3. Development
- Development of therapeutic strategies and their impact on morbidity and mortality.
- Improving the quality of life of patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases.
- Development of advanced imaging, diagnosis and treatment technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence.
- Personalized care.
